I am up against Claire in Soul Silver, my team is a Heracross, Hypno, and Kingler all level 33, I've had some horrible crits and this is what my team is reduced to, it was either balls up and face her or train these 3 and some more against wild pokemon...so I challenge her.
Heracross vs Gyarados, I had originally started with Paras, my cut slave to absorb the Intimidate. Heracross and Gyarados traded Shadow Claws and Dragon Rages, both trainers using Hyper Potions but eventually Gyarados went down.
Hypno managed to take out the first Dragonair with full HP, the second one hit a Aqua Tail crit and that was it for Hypno (Probably my favorite pokemon this run...)
I send out Kingler and it gets hit by a CRIT DRAGON PULSE...
This leaves me with my Heracross (who knocked out that stupid criting Dragonair) and a lvl 25 Shuckle I brought along in case I needed hits taken...I taught it Swagger right before the battle figuring it might disrupt Kingdra if I got to it, and it has no physical attacks so i can boost it and pray it hurts itself alot.
So Shuckle goes in, Hydro Pump misses, I Swagger. It hits itself, I swagger. It misses Hydro Pump again, I swagger...it hits itself once again, and it's Sitrus Berry goes off. The thing just kept missing Hydro Pump or hitting itself and I won without Shuckle getting touched...I thought my run was over before I talked to Claire and now i'll move on with Heracross, Shuckle and that Extremespeed Dratini...
tl;dr: Don't ****le with Shuckle.
