The Midway Family Fun Park will be featuring tournaments for Smash Bros 4.and Smash Bros Melee. If we have sufficient volunteer setups we will also host a Smash 64 tournament.

VENUE FEE:

- There is no venue fee. Midway Family Fun Park has a "pay per play" for their non-Smash packages. Please consider using their arcade machines and other gaming events while you are there! They have been truly gracious to have us on their premises.

- You can contact Midway about their rates.

SETUPS

Setups would be appreciated. This includes a monitor or flatscreen for Smash 4 and medium-sized CRTs for Smash Bros Melee and Smash 64. We mostly need CRTs but would not turn away any offers to borrow monitors for the duration of the event!

SCHEDULE:


Currently tentative. Please refer to the Facebook event for the latest schedule:

- Registration begins at 900AM for Singles and Doubles. Registration ends at 10AM.
-Casuals in the morning after early registration.
- 12-1PM will be lunch.

If applicable, any overflow of tournament matches will be completed on Sunday June 21st, 2015. This is highly, highly unlikely to be necessary!

- There is NO venue fee.
- There is a fee to play casuals ("For Fun") of $5.
- Playing in the Singles or Doubles tournament has a fee of $10. ("For Glory")

PRIZE DISTRIBUTION:

All tournaments will have the following pot split from all competitive play contributions:

Singles
1st Place – 70%
2nd Place – 20%
3rd Place – 10%

We are currently looking into having other interesting prizes such as EB Games gift cards, Amiibos, toys, etc. depending on the number of total entrants and setups, etc.

BRING YOUR OWN STICKS/CONTROLLERS:

Please have your own 3DS or controller ready to play. We will only be providing controllers for the casual setups.

BROKEN STICKS/BUTTONS:

If you have any stick/button problems at anytime then STOP PLAYING and get up and inform the nearby supervisor(s). The stick will be fixed or changed and the match will be replayed at the supervisor(s)' discretion.

The price isn't totally clear. If I want to play melee singles and only melee singles am I paying 5 or 10$

My apologies. I have cleared up the cost. It is much clearer now! Thus:

$5 for casual play. That means you can play any casual setup but no tournament entry. This is catered to non-competitive players who are focused on having fun.

$10 is for competitive play. That means you participate in any tournaments throughout the day for that one-time $10. This is more intended for the hardcore Smash crowd.

I was just wondering how the entry fee is divided for the pots if there is only one fee for all the games? Is it split between all games regardless of which events I enter, or is it only split with only the events I enter, meaning that players who enter more events are contributing less to the pots? Also is the $5.00 for casual play going into one (or all) of the prize pots?

Our event at the Midway Family Fun is geared towards Smash players of all levels of play We will have seasoned Smashers alongside people who wish to play at a centralized venue within the city just for fun with their friends at a great value.

The $5 for casual play is separate from the pot and will go entirely to the Midway for allowing us graciously to use their business as a venue for a lengthy 12 hours. You can sit down and play Smash all day with us!

The $10 goes towards the pot for the tournaments. As we have posters around the city for the event and no one has ever held a Smash event at the Midway before, it is difficult to know what the attendance will be. For now, the pot will be split amongst the different tournaments. If we get feedback asking for a $10 per tournament entry fee, we can certainly accommodate that in future Midway events!

Sorry, I'll try and clarify my question.
Because the entry is $10.00 for all of the events, it is unclear how the pot is divided between the different events. Will it be divided evenly regardless of enrollment in each event, or will the pot be divided based on entries for each event?

It will be the latter. Seeing how quickly this event is gaining in popularity in the last 2 days, it will likely be THE event of the summer!!
