Sup guys, Jerry Applesauce here. Got my hands on the demo of Smash Bros. for 3DS, and I've had some fun with it. I haven't got the game yet...cuz, well...kinda not worth it when I'm considering getting a Wii U. Later, obviously.

Anyways, the game feels good. Almost too good. Buttery smooth. Better than Brawl. But there's something bugging me.

It's jumping. I been playing lots of Melee lately, and I feel like there's more jumping options in that game than this new one. I think you could short hop and normal jump, and then some in between, but in SSB4, it appears that there's only a short hop and normal hop. Can anyone confirm anything with me on this?

I feel fine hitting various heights tbh. I use Falcon and hitting various airs is a huge asset to me, seems fine once I turned tap jump off completely

Not sure if you got what I meant...

From what I've played there's only two possible initial jump heights: a short one and a full one. In Melee, there was a short one, a full one, and I think a few in between. Correct me if I'm wrong here.

Maybe it's the characters. Some characters have shorter hopes (like pit and meta knight) while others have a larger jump (like Sheik or greninja) and you notice it, cause short hoping on greninja is a lot more noticeable on him, because his height is ridiculous.

you also consider the DI and the Fast fall feature, so there's a lot to think about when jumping I guess lol.
