Jump Cancel Grabs?

I was reading a forum about this earlier and believe I can do it (grabbing while pressing jump, right?) Not sure the uses or if it just grabs slightly faster. I'd appreciate any insight on the technique and where it could be used, thanks!

JC grabs are inputted by pressing X or Y to jump, and then before your character leaves the ground, pressing Z to grab. This is better than a dash grab because it's registered as a standing grab, which have shorter startup and endlag, as well as further range.
