Bowser Jr. is my main, and one of my worst matchup's is with the Blue Blur. I can barely get hits on the guy. As Sonic mains, is there any help you guys can give?

Most of the Sonic's I've played just end up grabbing it soon after I put the Mechakoopa down. I've found that his B move can stop Sonic's spindash, but the charge for even the weakest blow is a lot when fighting a Sonic, that's most of my problem, almost all of Jr's attacks take time to perform, time that can't be wasted when facing a fast character like him.

I have a hard time going against Bowser Jr. with Sonic myself. It might be my opinion but Sonic should be easier than what you expect. If Sonic's overwhelming you with Spin dashes or Grabs just use Abandon Ship (Up-B)... Hits me every time, and if it doesn't, just hit the blue pest if he's chasing after you in the air with that fancy hammer.

...Though, all the Bowser Jr.'s I go against spam this method... So I guess that's why It's so hard for me to fight him. -.-

Hope this helps at least a bit.

This is a terrible match up for poor Bowser Jr... Don't feel bad losing to Sonic with Bowser Jr.

Unfortunately, the heir to the Koopa throne doesn't have too many options for stuffing Sonic out of his mix ups. The Koopa Walking Bomb thing I find to be more useful when a confirmed SD/SC as it's chargining (Sonic may cancel this though) as it forces Sonic to not SD/SC towards you. However, like you said, Sonic can simply grab it, or depending on timing and distance, simply still SD/SC you. Also, recovering is a nightmare for Bowser Jr against Sonic. If you recover Horizontally with Forward B, you can easily get BAired/FAired by Sonic. If you recovery with Up B from under the stage, the spring will stuff you and you have no more Up B and simply fall to your death.

What the poster above me said is true as well though. Bowser Jr's up B is good for stuffing Sonic's SC/SD if you can react in time. However, Sonic can simply jump early to hit you in the air or SD Cancel and run in and shield the Up B opening you to punishment.

Can Jr's tilts knock Sonic out of his Spin Dash? If so, you have a lot of leeway to halt sonic's momentum.
Now... if he runs in to shield grab I usually try my best to either roll or use jab so that he doesn't have the chance to successfully grab (no grab armor thankfully).
Sometimes I do retreating Fairs to catch the sonic if he Spin dash jumps to try and rack up a mini combo on me, or reversed Bairs if I can get the hit in. Sonics, Jr's Fair and Bair attacks feature a disjointed hitbox in the wrecking ball. That automatically gives Jr. the edge in the air if it comes down to aerials spaced and timed properly.
Recovery is indeed a pain, and I have nothing new to add to that subject >.>

From whenever I've tried, if you can read an incoming spindash you can ovveride it with clown cart. Might be worth trying.

Even the Sonic mains don't know what you can do to beat him. /s

I'd say try dropping the mecha koopas more. I know Sonic can pick them up, but you can also use that as bait or just catch them in the air if you're fast enough. I'd say use shield more than you are, and spot dodge when you read the grab. Try to keep him zoned and see if you can't catch him with a Bair after a Spin Dash

Personally I Believe this match up is even, because if Sonic can get in on Jr. its pretty much over for him. On the other hand if Jr. gets the upper hand on Sonic it is over for Sonic. There have been plenty of Bowser Jr.'s that I have defeated with ease, bu then again there have been a lot of Bowser Jr.'s that have completely demolished me because of good spacing. So the point is to Space out Sonic, if he can't get the upper hand on you, you should be just fine.

Oh, little thing we picked up from the jr thread, shorthopping with mechakoopas works well. Either it'll get them forward a bit more (straight up shorthop) or a slightly bigger one will have it in the tumble animation when you land... right next to it (a bit of forward momentum required) where you can pick it up before it moves, then you can probably pelt Sanic for happytimes since it's pretty damaging and harder to read than a cannonball.
