Smash 3DS JP eShop: SSB4 Digital Download?

I heard some people have ordered a Japanese 3DS in order to download and play the game when it releases (before NA).

I was wondering; do you really need a Japanese 3DS? Can't you just create an eShop account that says you live in Japan and then buy the game if you can navigate the menus? It's not like if you own a NA 3DS that your only option is to choose from NA countries when signing up.

Any ideas?

You are too naive. You DEFINITELY need a Japanese 3DS cuz you can only pick Japanese region in the Japanese 3DS!!!!!

Sorry mate, I know you can do that with Playstation accounts but Nintendo is pretty stubborn about region lock so there's no doing that here.

*angrily shakes fist* Lucky! Eh whatever I'll just sit here spoiling myself silly till it releases here. Actually I start a new job tomorrow so I'll be busy with that. Hopefully that'll make time fly by.

Well I already have 3DS preordered but I'll be working to save up to get a Wii U for when that version comes out. In a way, I'm kinda glad that version is coming later.

I am, but in the meantime I'll be using my sister's 3DS until then (she rarely uses it anyways).

HMM, what about people who are living in Japan? I bought my 3ds in the states but could I still download Japanese smash4?

You need a japanese 3DS to use the japanese eShop. That's all there is to it.
