Please excuse my ignorance, but I really dont understand why JC usmash is useful. a dash can be canceled simply by a usmash w/o a JC. are there any other uses for usmash that that only be exploited by a JC?

How do you cancel a dash into an upsmash without JC? Dash canceling with crouch? If you're pressing Up+A to upsmash, you're already JCing your upsmashes from your dash.

when u U-smash out of a dash, u are unnoticably jump canceling ur dash when u smash the control stick up.
sometimes if u dont do it right u end up doing a dash attack instead of a u-smash. because u didnt jump cancel correctly. but really... theres no other way of canceling a dash into an attack without jumping or crouching.

ok, its just whenever i thought of jc (like a jc grab) I think of pressing z+x quasi-simultaneously, where x acts as the jump. I guess I didnt realize that the up command in usmash actualy jc's the usmash. If such is the case, then my n00b brother has been jcing ushashes for years...

does jc u smash out of shield also beat pillaring?

It does, i used it recently at a tourny. SH shine from shield also beats pillaring.
After Falco's shine, his dair, nair, and bair, are all like 8 frames or more i believe...
Fox's usmash is 6 frames and his shine is 4 frames. Both moves are faster than anything Falco can do after his shine.
Therefore: Wait for his shine and use either move, and it breaks his pillar.
