Overhyped Japanese Brawl Sonic. Flashy as ****, but not effective.

It was annoying as hell because people would just bombarde the Sonic boards not knowing **** about Sonic being like, "Hey, have you heard of RATS? He's really good and you should play like him" as if they had any right to claim they know anything about our character at all. He just played over the top which made him look cool, but he'd get bodied by anyone who knows anything.

well now instead of RATS we have the 6WX hype train, not that he isn't deserving of any praise but i do sometimes feel like he's over hyped by the community at large especially when there are other sonic's out there putting in work as well.

It's annoying when i watch streams and commentators talk about how he's the ONLY sonic who plays aggro when that isn't the case at all.

I think in that case though 6wx is pretty clearly the most dominant Sonic right now, so at least the hype is justified.

But yeah, I agree with you to an extent. Like, apparently every Sonic in the world is "campy" except for him which isn't true...

Yeah RATS was meh.

I do actually like 6WX a lot and have learned a couple things from him but I've seen several other sonic mains in videos and such and most are all pretty good but 6WX is definitely the best as of now

I think there's no denying that. I definitely have a lot of respect for him, and had fun meeting him and playing him in bracket.

6WX is definitely the top Sonic, and his adaptation, mix-ups, and just creative play in general are really great. I've also certainly noticed that recently, he's having a bit of trouble getting kills... KTAR XII and Shots Fired both come to mind. Seagull Joe is a close second. He used to be campy, but now he goes in. Always a pleasure to see. Static Manny is another great Sonic, and I can definitely tell you that man is the truth. He's at like every other tournament I go to since he lives in my region, and he's great. Really nice and helpful guy too, played friendlies and gave advice.

About the actual OP of this thread... well, there really aren't any Japanese Sonic players who are dominant in Japan. Sheik and ZSS are the most used characters there, last time I checked. If you re-watch the matches between 6WX and Nietono from Apex 2015, it's like Nietono was learning the MU then and there. Pretty interesting how every region has different characters you see more than others.
