Smash 3DS Japanese 3DS demo vs US 3DS demo

Has anyone tried to play a versus match between a Japanese 3DS/demo and a US 3DS/demo? I'm hoping the demo as well as final game will not be region locked to allow versus matches between games from Japan and US.

I'm pretty sure local play will work on the full game. I'm not sure on the demo but it would be a really weird choice for a game that's designed to play with others to have it locked like that

People say no. Some people said yes originally but NoA and people who have played the japanese version say no. Doesn't matter anyways since you'll be getting so many more coins from the real game it won't matter. You'll probably make up whatever you made in the demo in less than a day.

Tried it myself with both regions awhile back, the demo isn't region locked. So the final game shouldn't be, unless Nintendo wants to pull off a really evil joke on us

This is true, online matches alone award x6ish in coins what the demo awarded for a round. I think I got back whatever I earned in an hour just from Classic mode.
