So today in for glory I was playing as DK and went up aganst a fox. Around 30% or so (don't have a replay) He just started to use his standard AA combo and repeat it till I was at the edge of the stage and then up smash me. So I wanna know how can fox set up a jab lock? And who dose it work aganst? And is it 100% guarantee combo?

It's called jab cancelling. Setting it up its kinda simple, sometimes try I dair to jab but it seems kinda risky, or use it as a punish whenever like if someone hit your shield with a aerial and get landing lag. jab cancelling really works on everyone really. It's best to use it against heavy characters like Bowser and DK, and it was in brawl too. And other things that combos to jab cancelling such as a grab, shine, and dsmash; Everyone really just uses grab and upsmash for jab cancelling.

Jab cancelling isn't perfect, it works really well but not perfect. At high percents it'll only work once, and at 0% is the same, Only at 20%+ does this really start going off but even then there are certain characters with fast attacking aerials that can attack before his next jab combo comes out (like Ness' Nair) so doing continuous jab combos on him is going to be punished.

As for your situation, DK relatively falls into this jab trap easily since he's heavy but it doesn't take long for you to get out of it with the right DI and air dodging, and then going for a punish.

This Jab combo personally I think should strictly be used as a setup and by no means a tool for just racking up damage.

^Agree with the above, you can not only DI away but also DI in towards the jabs since Fox steps up forward when he does his second jab. Many characters also have Up-B and N-air escape options. However, I will say that sometimes I like to condition opponent into doing this with multiple jabs at the start of the match, then switching to shielding their escape option or grab them when they DI in.

In the case of DK, I'm not sure. I thnk his Up-B should work to let him escape by DI'ing away?

Sorry for the double post, but I'm bumping this almost a month later:

The following video gives a good example of how you can apply Fox's jab lock. Unlike Link, he doesn't have to crouch cancel making it much easier. On the other hand, he doesn't trap as many characters as Link.

Also, watch that video ^ on youtube and check the description. It shows which characters and at what percents the jab locking is inescapable. Must have spent a lot of lab time! Good job!

Well that's not me who made the video, that was Ambrose. I do know him however, he is a Canadian Smasher in the Greater Toronto Area, and I do speak with him about the uses of jab locking (among other smash things) whenever I see him. His channel is legit.

Question about fox double jab combo: how do you know if it works or not in training mode? Does it make real combo (like 6-8-12 hits in training, or just 1-2;1-2;1-2 hits?)

For exemple, you can do it at any % vs Bowser Jr, how many hit do you get in training for those who knows how to perform double jab combo plz?

The combo counter won't register this as a real combo, since it only takes hitstun in consideration. The reason this works is because of hitstun from the jabs and landing lag from being popped up by Fox's jabs.

The best way to know if it works is to get a training partner to help you out. Go in training mode and initiate the combo. Have your partner try to break out of it by 1) shielding when he/she lands, 2) trying to jab when they land. If they can't, you've got the timing right. Keep in mind the character they're using too, make sure to read the description.

If you don't have a training partner, you can still practice by counting frames. Try doing it in slow motion first. Remember you need 20 frames in between the jab 2 -> jab 1.
At 1/4, 20 frames is a little bit over a second. At 1/2 speed, 20 frames is just a bit over half-a-second.
