Iwata talks E3 Smash 4 during Nintendo Direct conference!

Satoru Iwata, President of Nintendo, released a video feed this morning giving its viewers highlights on what to expect this year for their new generation console: Wii U.

Some of the main highlights include:

• A new game starring Yoshi! The last game released starring Yoshi was Yoshi's Story N64 back in 1998.
• The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker remade in HD!
• Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem crossover!
• The Wonderful 101

In a more related subject, Iwata discussed Sakurai's progress with Smash 4 and what to expect for this upcoming E3:

Iwata: "Some of you may have some expectations of new information about the old new Super Smash Bros. game for Nintendo DS and Wii U. It is a huge development undertaking and we need more time before it launches. Mr. Sakurai who is leading the development efforts told us..."

Sakurai: "We set the timing to review the first game screenings of the new Smash Brothers at this year's E3. Game development is on track. I'd like to ask you to wait just a little longer."​

So, the good news is that we'll see SOMETHING this upcoming E3!

And something is always better than nothing.

It was Yoshi's Island DS, the horribly inferior sequel to the SNES classic. He was specifically talking about home consoles though.
