While I was certainly disappointed to learn it was the final roster, I won't disagree with this. I was at least hoping we'd find more characters and then have people doing everything they could with Samus/ZSS trying to get Ridley to no avail, but this is good enough for me.

In what Smash game that has other modes was every character unlocked via the default mode? I'm not certain they would do things like that, but I guess they could have changed their approach. I would think All-Star mode would unlock at least one character.

What are you talking about? You mean just the secrets?

8 new IPs were added to SSB4.
And Ridley/K.Rool/Dixie/Chorus Kids/Mewtwo are not the only characters that 'everyone' wanted.

This may come as a shock to everyone, but tons of people wanted Villager, Little Mac, Bowser Jr., Rosalina, Dark Pit, Palutena, Robin, Lucina, Shulk, Mii, Mega Man & Pac Man. Tons. Some of them were wanted since Brawl was in development, or even Melee. Legions of people wanted most of those characters. A lot of people are going to be more than happy with this roster. And on top of them, we got the Koopalings & Alph. Other characters people wanted.

I may be delusional, but the way the roster is distributed is just too odd. It's sloppy and Sakurai is very perfectionist when it comes to this kind of things.

There is definitely going to be DLC patches, because the online mode is still locked. Maybe we'll get some new characters when they release the online mode.

Yar I'm thinking that there'll be DLC. I'm thinking some extra characters on Wii U disc that will unlock on 3DS when you get it/to buy if you didn't buy the Wii U version.

The roster is weird, but either Nintendo has gone money hungry with DLC or Sakurai honestly doesn't care about the fans. Yes, some people got their most wanted characters. Yes, there are a ton of unique newcomers. Yes, there are also some very questionable choices (exclusions, inclusions, and changes or lack thereof to returning characters). Yes, there is still a possibility that this is meant to market the Wii U version with free DLC characters. No, I will not purchase the game if this is all we get. The trade off of characters in comparison to Brawl doesn't justify the purchase for me (and others I'm sure). No, there is no reasonable explanation for replacing two semiclones and one of the most unique characters in the game with three glorified skins. No, there is no reasonable explanation for excluding a majority of the most requested characters. Call it salt, butt hurt, childish frustration, etc.. I don't care. There are many who feel similarly. If you love the roster, great. If you're happy because you're a contrarion and the most popular choices were left out or because you just accept whatever you're given with no question, then you are the one at fault. Sakurai has this job because we pay money that we earn for his product. At this point, his product does not meet my expectations, and so I will not be purchasing it.
