Item switch is frustrating.

Some of us have a story of how we unlocked Item Switch. Here's mine.

I started playing this game again on my Wii bit ago, and I went straight to VS. I hopped on Kirby because I didn't have Luigi in this version (yet...) and battled Link. Hyrule Castle. I see items are on, and look up how to turn them off. I find out how, then go to Planet Zebes after finally unlocking Luigi. I do 1 stock, 200% damage, against Mario. I just walk up to him and use Up B, and win. I do this over and over for AN HOUR. Yeah. An hour. Then I unlock the Item Switch. Worth it? I guess.

you couldve just done 1 stock matches and sd'd 50 times

I just did 200%, 1stock, DL, DK upb against jiggs or whoever on my new J cart. Was fast

I didn't even remember that you had to unlock item switch. It's been like 16 years.

Maybe if Nintendo WOULD PUT 64 GAMES ON WII U VC ALREADY LIKE THEY PROMISED ALMOST TWO YEARS AGO my memory of progressing through unlocks in 64 would be fresher.

There's 64 on regular wii VC and it's ****. I doubt they'd do any better with Wii U.
