I posted this a little while ago on a rom forum:

How do you feel about this matter?

(P.S. I joined here because NSIDER2 is gone for the night)

good job man... i agree with you 100%...

a friend of mine got some roms for me (because i never bothered with it before), but i deleted them after i played one game of mario, thinking, "this is definitely not how mario is supposed to be played" (or something like that).

I was at a Mario Kart DS tournament a few days ago, and I noticed that nearly everyone was using an R4 or M3, meaning they were using a pirated version of the game. When we got down to the finals, in a room with 12 people who had DS's, there were only 3 actual copies of the game. It really pissed me off, because this is a very serious problem Nintendo is dealing with, and they lose a lot of money every year from it.

It's a hot topic, but many people would rather download them for free instead of spending money on games. It's kinda sad how the mind works. The guilt is overshadowed by pleasure :)

A. It's a totally baseless claim because you are assuming that the people who downloaded the roms did that instead of buying the games. Same thing was done to TV-Links. They were shut down and blamed for the loss of XX millions of dollars. The movies I watched on there were movies I would never pay to see (Transformers, Hostel 2, Saw 3) and only got to see them that way and in fact, I went see Hostel 2 because of it.

B. We don't allow any discussion on roms. When you make a stance, people will oppose it.
