Issues with dashing?

I'm not sure if this is just me having not played Project M for two months and not being used to it, but I seem to have an issue dashing right after using certain moves. Like whenever I land without L cancelling, do a forward tilt or do a smash attack, I seem to have an issue getting my character to dash right after doing one of those moves and they just walk instead. Is it because I'm doing the dash input too early? Is my controller messed up? Anyone else experienced what I'm referring to here?

what game are you comparing to?
Are you playing on dolphin or Wii?

Project M has a 0 frame buffer, the same as melee. so if you're coming from brawl or 4, you have to get used to more precise input. Brawl and 4 have a 10 frame buffer.

If it's dolphin, make sure your controler settings are correct re deadzones and radius

Well, I just tested PM with a different controller and the little missed inputs are still happening, so I think it might just be because I've been playing Melee nonstop for two months straight without touching PM. I think I'm so used to being able to dash right after an attack without waiting, it's become a habit that doesn't exist in PM.
