Is this flaw Yoshi specific?

I've noticed too many times, that while shielding, when I press something that isn't shield, Yoshi is vulnerable as soon as I press it, before his shield is even down. Is this true for every character, or is it just worst for Yoshi since his shield lowers slower?

Yes, it happens to other characters as well, but the timing is a bit more strict. Yoshi has to resort to roll dodge spam before dropping his shield. At least you can't get shield poked.
