Is this a good way to edgeguard Marths?

I was messing around with Snake against computers a little bit today because I haven't readjusted to playing via wifi and its delay. I was wondering if this would be a decent tactic to use against characters like Marth. I've only accidentally done it against a Marth computer around 5 minutes ago, but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be too hard, if at all, to pull off consistently in a match.

Anyway, finally, here it is. Grenade near ledge>Drop it>Advanced hug (or just jump onto the ledge)

The invincibility frames from the hug will make Marth's recovery go right past you and make him hit the grenade. It won't necessarily kill but it still hurt him and was really flashy. I haven't really seen anyone try or talk about this.

The only thing that I can think of that the Marth could use to somewhat bypass it is using neutral B to recover but there are always going to be times when he needs to ^B to get back on.

If you don't know what hugging or advanced hugging is, look here: http://smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=153930

Couples last things. Very sorry if this is known and used already, and I'll be linking some videos of my Snake eventually to be critiqued by you guys. Random, but they are some nice matches.

Edit: I feel extremely stupid and newby for posting this, since you can just down smash near the ledge or whatever and edgehog/hug. Oh well, maybe it'll just turn into another "Critique my terrible Snake" thread.

Really? I don't know how useful it will actually be in a match.
I had a lot of trouble trying to pull it off on computers because I would keep up-tilting or f-tilting them so they just die, not having a chance to even try the little tactic.

I see. I haven't been trying it at all, mostly since I haven't played any Marths lately. Thanks for your input though, even though only you two are the only ones who have said anything so far.

Looks like this could be really useful. Adds a flashy touch to an already tried-and-true technique. Will definitely think about doing this if I face any Marths anytime soon. But if Marth hits the 'nade, wouldn't he be able to recover again? Unless at really high-percentages >.>

Even if the Marth doesn't get killed by the explosion, it still damages him and sends him in the air, giving potential to kill him.
Spam up-smash anyone?

Basically, hitting him with the grenade would be better than him sweet spotting the ledge.
