Im new to the whole online competative smash bros, so wat im used to doing is using mainly Fsmash and Dsmash as much as possible. so i was wondering if there is a specific technique to do tilt attacks without doing a smash instead.
also, ive seen on a lot of DDD vids people cancel the up B but i cant seem to figure out how.
(i use wii-mote/nun chuck if that makes any difference)

Conerning tilts you need to push the direction you want to do a tilt attack before hitting the attack button. (the equivalent of A on a gamecube controller, I'm not familiar with wii-mote/nun chuck) To cancel the up-b you just hit down on the joystick anytime after the UP-B starts.

I also recommend you read the sticked guide
