Is there a general consensus to expressing "good game"?

When I have a really nice 1v1 with someone, I kinda want to express that I had fun, that it was challenging and a close game and all that. Is there a generally accepted way to express this? Seeing how some people get agitated at the opponent taunting I came to realize that it's really easy to misunderstand what someone is trying to express - taunt doesn't really distinguish between saying "That was great!" or "YOU'RE TOO SLOW".

I usually just say "Wow, you're really good."

Then realize that I'm talking to my Kirby Amiibo and start thinking that I really need friends.
Or at least an internet connection good enough to play online with.

Use name tags. If you are about to leave someone you had fun playing with, change your name to "Good Game!" or something. The change happens live, so you don't actually have to enter the match, just sit on the CSS for a few seconds to make sure they see.

I recommend you type some phrases like this up in the name tag registering screen before actually going online, so you can switch them in and out.

That's a splendid idea. Never seen anybody do it, surprisingly so. Thanks a lot!

I first saw someone do it the other day. Thought it was really clever.

Related, if someone takes my first stock in a really impressive way, I'll usually taunt on respawn. I think it gets the message across, and I've seen other people do it to me.
