Is the the Codes folder a necessity of programming?

I mean, could the Launcher be programmed to draw from a different folder for the File Patch instead of the codes folder? Like, say, projectmcode?

I ask because it would be nice if I could just switch between Balanced Brawl (which I play using the Minima Launcher) and Project M without having to go to a computer and renaming the folders on my SDHC card.
