Is Taunting allowed in tournaments?

I'm a really good player in Smash 1 vs 1 and free for all glory matches. I want to go to tournaments to prove my point in the theory of a tier list being obsolete in a game like this. Before I do go to tournaments I want to know something. Is taunting in a tournament after taking a stock allowed or will you get disqualified for it? I ask this question because I want to be a really BM player who does such a thing and actually gets to the semi finals or finals through BM taunting after taking stock. :3

I of course play mostly Duck Hunt, Palutena, Pac-Man, and Mega Man. It's because their taunts are the most BM in the game in my opinion, so I wanted to play them to the point it's at a competitive level.

Um depends i don't see why it would be banned. TO's would ban it if to make sure players play sportsman like.

You can taunt, but if it's a regular kill it's kinda looked down upon. If you combo someone and end with a falcon punch with 0% damage, go for it. Just don't taunt after every kill.

Taunting too much deflates its effect. If you use it sparingly, it can be the cherry on top of a delicious combo cake.

If you haven't been to a tournament yet and you mostly just play For Glory and such, you're going to have a difficult time getting to semifinals or finals. Especially with characters that aren't as good as others. Tier lists just show how good a character is and how much potential they have, and they do exist for a reason. I wish you the best of luck though.

Oh yeah, to answer your question: No, taunting is not illegal, and it never should be. But don't expect for people to be very happy with you if you're taunting constantly.
