Smash Wii U Is Smash Tour a good replacement for Adventure Mode/SSE?

What do you think? Honestly Smash Tour did not look that good. Especially considering it is supposed to be the big mode of the Wii U version. I was hoping the Wii U big mode was going to be like smash run but much more grand. The presentation was almost a 10/10 for me but Smash Tour just doesn't look that spectacular imo. Everything else was amazing though.

I'll be playing this a ton with my younger siblings; it's a cross between Mario Party & Smash. Looks like a really fun party game if the overall design is implemented as well as it appears to be.

It looks like a lot of fun.

But if you want me to answer your question directly, then no, it's not a good replacement at all. The lack of any sort of adventure/story mode in this iteration of Smash is not made up by a new mode. I very much enjoyed the SSE and think not having a true replacement is saddening.

It does look like a lot of fun, though not as fun as Smash Run, but I'll have to wait and see.

Smash Tour looks amazing! It just depends whether you have friends to play with. Playing it on solo must get boring quick, but with friends it'll probably be one of, if not, the best mode.

I don't think you should even compare it to Adventure Mode or SSE since it's a completely different thing.

It's not really a replacement but a different kind of mode.

If you can play through it pretty fast. I'd say it will be fun.

It looks ****ing fantastic, but I don't consider it a "replacement," it's just a new mode.

If anything, Master Fortress is the adventure mode replacement, and that's really pushing it.

It's not the Smash-io Party I was hoping for. Looks more like Wii Party U: Smash Edition. Which I have no problem with since I've never played it but it looks fun from what I've seen. My only gripe is that Miis take center stage here. What if I wanted to move Dark Pit around the board, huh?

I'm honestly kind of indifferent to it right now.

It's just Smash Run with the fun part of it changed into something that seems much more static.

The only thing I liked about Smash Run was enemies from all different games being the enemies, otherwise I was bored with it.

I wish we had a true "adventure mode" but I think Smash Tour looks neat.

No it's not a good replacement. It's actually a very terrible replacement for the Subspace emissary.

The subspace provided a pretty beautiful opportunity to see all the Nintendo characters interacting with each other. It was interesting to see the relationships they establishe and simply just to KNOW that there can be story and history between them.

That said, the new Super smash party mode looks like a ton of fun in it's own right.

I personally think it's very different to SSE. I played the SSE a few times and that's it, I didn't play it after that at all for the rest of the time I played Brawl. I just played the other modes. I really think SSE does not have too much replayability (apart from trying to get all those trophies with the trophy stands which I hated so much)
SSE itself was amazing, but even amazing is been there, done that very soon if there's no good reason to replay it over and over.

Smash Tour on the other hand is a much quicker fun casual game, which you can replay over and over. And there is good rewards each time you play it.

As much as my answer to the OP's question will be controversial, I think Smash Tour is a better replacement. Sure we lose the initial few hours we put into doing SEE as there is no SSE replacement in SSB4. But after a doing SSE a few times I had no want to replay it, but I think I'll replay Smash Tour every so often, in between classic mode, vs matches, All Star Mode, etc etc.
Even though I voted for Smash Tour as the better one, this is really like comparing apples to oranges, both are so different and different crowds liked SSE to who will like Smash Tour.

No I hate it! This is a step backwards! Sakurai said no cutscenes not no adventure mode! I wouldn't care if the game just had text boxes with in game cutscenes like in the SNES day's this mode is ****. Imagine going thru a mega man stage with mega man enemy's... AS MARIO! Imagine going thru mario's world as sonic!

I like the idea a lot but the maps look so boring... I was hoping for something truly like Mario Party, probably expecting too much.

I was honestly hoping it would be about choosing a fighter as the player piece to move along the board. I lost a lot of interest when I found out you don't really have a true choice in characters but I'll play it now and then.

Looks a bit messy imo, it was hard to properly understand how things work the first time I watched the Direct, and I'm still not quite sure I fully understand it after watching it three times. It seems too gimmicky to be something I'm interested in, the Special Orders sound like more fun to me, they are much more simple.

In all honestly I don't think it's meant to be. Special orders is more a closer fit I guess.

In that case then NOOO.

Sse for me wasn't about a main solo mode. It was about see all my fav character interact together. And for a cast like this I'd love too see what happens. Also I gave me a sense of completion. Which event will give me I guess.
