Is SDHC support a feature of 3.01 itself or only the launcher?

I really like the idea of using a dedicated launcher, but I can't use it since I run PM off an unmodded Brawl ISO and apply the mod with a 2GB SD card. I use a lot of music and have other things on my card, so I'm just barely getting by with 2GB.

Is there any way I can have SDHC support while still using a USB loader? Did PM 3.01 add SDHC, or is it a feature of the launcher? And can I use the launcher with an ISO?
