Is practicing 20GX stuff actually useful for a very new Falcon?

I've only been taking Melee more seriously in the past few weeks and have spent that time practicing the basic techskill like wavedashing, shuffling, jump cancelling grabs, etc. I started with Fox but I'm considering going to Falcon because I've heard that beginning with him can sort of screw up your fundamentals. And like most Melee players, I love seeing a great Falcon.

I've spent the last couple of days just getting a feel for the character- figuring out the timing for his shuffled aerials, how to do basic technical skill with him, the feel of his movement, and experimenting with him in a few friendlies. After getting decent with the most basic of skills, I started researching what I should be practicing and how I should be practicing it.

I found this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qAUVzXOct4o) of Gahtzu and Gravy discussing beginner Falcon fundamentals and wasn't sure if much of the stuff they discussed would really apply to someone as new to the character and game as myself. Although I can definitely see the uses of dash dancing and even in doing aerials with analog jumps and neutral jumps instead of always doing dash jumps, I wasn't sure if I would benefit from studying them as much as the 20GX crew does.

Is the stuff that 20GX discusses (pivoting, advanced dash dancing techniques, analog jumping, shield stopping) actually the fundamental stuff I should be practicing? If not, what things should I be doing? I'm willing to put in the time, but there seems to be significantly less material out there for what a Falcon should learn first and learn correctly than what a Marth or Fox should do.

For sure, its extremely useful stuff that has up-ed my game a lot. The main things I have practiced pretty well at this point is tech chasing with wavedash out of shield, better dashes from ledges, pivot aerials with proper drift, etc.. After you start to master this stuff you can really see improvement in your play and general movement. I would say definitely practice some of their stuff.

What other stuff should I be practicing and thinking about as a beginner Falcon?
