Is Nintendo going to be selling Switch edition GameCube controllers?

I've been waiting several months to see if it'll be possible to get affordable new GameCube controllers, but it looks like Nintendo won't be releasing a new GameCube controller. Even though there was mention of them in the Direct, there was no announcement of Nintendo manufacturing new controllers. Should I wait for a Switch edition controller, or buy used right now, and if so where should I look?

They've been showing pictures of a black Gamecube controller with a really thin, half-*ssed logo on the front, otherwise alike last gen's.

It's not like this game is shooting for technicality, so it's questionable that you'll need the Gamecube controller specifically. In all likelihood, the new pro controller will suit everyone's needs.
