From what I understand, CRT TVs are preferred for Melee, as they can take the older signal a GameCube outputs, and provides no image processing.
I have a Wii with component cables, and an HDTV that accepts component at 480p. Melee supports progressive input. The TV itself reports 6ms response time, and it also has a gaming mode.
If 1 frame of Melee (60FPS) is 16.67ms, and my TV has a response time lower, does this mean that my TV is able to play Melee at 480p with less than one frame of lag?
I've been told to buy a CRT if I wish to go very far in the competitive scene but now I don't know if it is necessary for me. Is my TV good enough?
