Is melee cheap anywhere?

As one of the many people who don't have a copy of melee from when it first came out, I've been looking around for copies. Has anybody bought a copy of melee without spending 50-60 dollars?

Chances are you won't find it online for cheap. You could always try garage sales. Sometimes you get parents who are selling their kid's old video games and have no idea what they're worth. I know guy who got an N64 along with Mario Party 2 and Majora's Mask for about $20 from a garage sale. It's not impossible, but it might take a lot of searching.

Or you can just bite the bullet and buy it for $30-$60. Your call.

Also, I doubt it will get significantly cheaper until competitive Melee is no more. If nothing else, the price will go up from supply and demand because less people will sell theirs and more people will want to buy copies. In addition, less copies will exist over time because people lose, scratch, or shatter discs for various reasons.

I would also suggest searching for lots. When most people sell their old consoles, unless they know the individual value of things, tend to just bundle everything together for an overall discounted price. Sure, it might cost more but you might also get some other good games out of the deal. Or you could just take any copy of Melee that might be sold in said lot and then resell the console.

I guess I'll just keep looking around, or I might just suck it up and spend the money. Thanks for the input tho

If you have a friend with the game they might sell it for cheaper. Otherwise, just search around.
