I was thinking about purchasing a Wii just to play Smash. But is it worth paying 80-100 just to play 3 games (Melee, Brawl, PM)? Of course Im gonna put a lot of time into it, but I would just like to know if it is a safe investment.

You can get a Wii for $20. I bought a black one from a pawnshop sometime ago after my original one finally gave out on me. It runs great. And yes, it is most definitely worth it, if you love playing Smash.

Hell yeah son. I have two Wii's, one plays discs, and the other is prepped with ISO's of Brawl and Melee, PM loads with ease.

So you want to know if Smash is worth a Wii?

Son! Smash is worth two!

Yes, its worth it. Me and the pig guards have a lot of fun. The best is when i can land a final smash on Greedo.

This is the best answer. I went into an electronics Goodwill a few weeks ago and saw about ten Wii's lined up, all for $40. I purchased a silver gamecube in amazing condition for $15. No need to spend 80-100. :)

I have yet to see a $20 wii in my region, but they go as low as $50 here.

Well, you can always play some other wonderful Wii/GC games like Mario Galaxy, Wind Waker, Metroid Prime, DK Country Returns.

Make sure you have a scene in your state as well. If you don't, and you aren't gonna travel, it isn't worth, in my opinion.

If you haven't played super Mario Galaxy, then you should get a Wii, also get DKCR, Kirby's Return to Dreamland and other awesome non-Smash Nintendo games because Nintendo has so much more to offer than just Smash.

Thats where wifi comes in (if you can deal with lag). If you really like smash then its wroth it just be sure to get a wii in quality condition, I personally don't find ebay to be trust wrothy.

For 40-50 dollars you could do a lot worse haha. Note that Melee and Brawl both have a lot of replayability value, and when you buy Brawl you're essentially getting two games. Also, you can stock up on older games like Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn or Tales of Symphonia.

I'm honestly pretty sure Smash is the only reason about 200k people even own a Wii in the first place. Likely an accurate figure.

In the eternal words of Captain Falcon, HYEZ!

Definitely worth it. And besides, there are plenty of other games worth getting to make it more worth it.
