Yes, it is pissible. Its called netplay. I wish I had it but my computer is too slow :/
If you have a good enough computer, just look for setting-up project M netplay and you should be able to play online.

Edit: By the way, the official nintendo wi-fi servers for brawl were closed so this is the only way for the moment. :) good luck.

Do you have a link to how this netplay can be set-up?

This is actually not entirely true. Though the official servers were shut down, there were people who made custom, independent servers which with to connect various Wii games including Brawl and, by extension, P:M.

To set up playing on the custom wi-fi servers, follow the instructions in this thread. Note that you would need to download the wi-fi safe version of P:M when you're setting it up.

You can still set up Netplay for P:M if you want. Use this guide to help you out.

Oh, my mistake. I was unaware of the custom wi-fi servers. Thanks for the correction.

As Kman suggested, setting up PM Online is really easy. You can try to reserve an FC, I don't know if they'll still do it unfortunately. If that doesn't work you just have to delete your Brawl Save File and replace the RSBE01 file in your Project M folder. Then you'll be ready to go.
