Is it possible to play Project M on Wii U with a GameCube Controller

Just as the title implies, I recently tried out Project M at a tournament and enjoyed it, however I don't own a Wii, I own a wii U, I can order the SD card and do the whole installing, but is it possible, If not than I would be pretty sad, but my hopes are high.

Not yet. The GC controller works on the launcher, but not in-game. But there are people working on it, I think. Can't give an eta though.
