Exactly, I understand it would require an entire overhaul, but I think it'd be neat.

Hmm... I imagine it must be possible, but you'd need to do the entire thing from scratch. Maybe check out the other menus in the game and see if you can take any cues from them, they already do what you're looking to accomplish.

It is most definitely possible. If the menus work that way, then the css is possible to. It'll take quite the effort though.
