Is it possible that having too many textures can cause freezing?

Hi I'm fairly new to using textures, so sorry if this is an obvious question. Basically, my wii occasionally freezes (fairly randomly; I can play for more than an hour before it happens usually) and starts buzzing and I have to unplug it to turn it off. I have the latest verson of Gecko and it hasn't started freezing until I started using textures. I have a TON of textures though, so is it possible that using too many hacked skins/stages can cause freezing? If so, what's a safe amount of textures to use? Thanks in advance!

There is no limit to how many hacks you can use. However, there can be file size issues if your hacks use more memory than what's in the original ISO.

When I've had random freezes, that's exactly what the cause was.

Here are a few things to watch for to find the problem:
- Does it always happen on the same stage?
- Does it always happen with the same character?
- Does a certain action cause it (character death, grabs, and being foot-stooled have always been the prime offender for me)

Take note of what happened when a freeze happens and maybe even try to duplicate it. Like if it was a 4 way battle and it froze, try the same stage with only 2 of the characters involved until you get the freeze again. That should track down the culprit for you.
