Smash 3DS Is it just me or is my circle pad actually getting worse?

So when I first started it took me a few hours to get tilts right, especially up since I use tap to jump so I can up-b out of shield. Now, about a week and a half later, I am completely flubbing any directional moves. It's as if my circle pad is now actively working against me. Am I just controller johning or is anyone else having this problem?

Lately I goof on smash attacks and dropping through the thin platforms. I guess I don't "tap" fast enough sometimes, but pressing any harder and I'll end up like lot who broke their circle pads.

Maybe I should get a handle thing and one of those pads that gives it extra leverage, I bet that would help a bit. Of course there's still the hell that is Sm4sh lag :/

Not mine, surprisingly. And the grip has been off for over a year now.

I have a handle for my 3DS XL and it has greatly improved my performance when playing Smash on the 3DS. I highly recommend it for both comfort and ease of play. ^_^

Which one did you get? There's several out there, and I want to be sure to get a good one that's not too expensive, but works well.

Hmmmm, looks like they aren't available for purchase anymore. That's really too bad. I suppose everyone else had the same thought process as I did when it came to playing Smash Bros. 3DS comfortably. Here's the link in case they do happen to surface again with my stock. It's actually one of the more cheaper options as well and it works wonderfully, so leave your worries behind because it's all good. ^_^

I haven't had any problems, but if you think it would help, you could always try and recalibrate it in the 3DS system settings.

No link :p is it the Hand Grip for 3DSXLL? I want to make sure I get a good one with easy access to the shoulder buttons, since I just use default controls.

Oh hey, I didn't think of this, thanks!

Hmmm I can't seem to find anything quite like this with the triggers in place :/ I guess I'll do some shopping. I wonder If I can get the trigger separately and use them both at the same time.

The Circle Pad can be quite sensitive with which actions you try to perform. If you don't tap it quickly enough, you'll just simply walk, instead of dash.

It's just sad knowing that the Directional Pad can only perform taunts, as it could've easily been used for movement.

It really loses me a lot of room in some matches. When I go to punish with a side Smash sometimes I just tilt, and sometimes I simply jab, no directional input at all! It's really quite frustrating.

It's fine though, as frustrating as it is at the moment, I'll definitely be happy to break in this brand new white GCN controller when the Wii-U comes out

I noticed it today when I was fighting a friend in an online match. Sometimes I'd just do tilts instead of smashes and I got punished for it. I'm gonna refrain form playing for a bit.

I think I'll try to do the same, I've just been going so hard for the past week and a half. Maybe I just need a hand break.

IDK what it is, but I'm frequently mixing up side-Bs and up-Bs, and I keep doing ftilts when I want to fsmash. I think it's just my thumb for the B problems but it's especially annoying when using a side B off stage means death.

I'm really glad that nobody has called me a John, and that other people are actually having similar problems.

I guess everyone is just kind of on board with the fact that these controls kind of blow.

I don't really go hard on the controls unless there's sudden death or I'm playing an intense match against someone.

Is there a way to oil the controls or make it slightly comfortable without having to buy a new 3DS?

No I meant going hard as in just frequent play. I'm not sure, but I know you can get these little nubs that go on top of your circle pad. They cost way too much though.
