is edge canceling the up to edge grab the best way to edgeguard?

It's certainly flashy, but most of the times it isn't actually used to edgegaurd, it's just to get on the edge. If they are close it can be pretty risky. I remember in a video of Ken vs Kdj where kdj went for the upB edgehog and Ken grabbed the edge first. Kdj managed to correct his DI in time though but left him to upB onto a platform. To actually edgegaurd I'm pretty sure bair, nair, dsmash, and cc dtilt -> fair take the cake.

Yeah, the only use for it is creating little explosions while edgehogging and doing a fancy trick on Jungle Japes, but Sheik has plenty of better options.

One time I killed someone while edgeguarding with the double vanish and it was very gratifying. However i've also killed myself a few times in the situation arcnatural described so I'd advise against it.

Is there any way of practicing this ledgehog so you get it 100%.... I can get it maybe half the time but yeah that's not helpfull....

Just reverse needle on to the edge and guard from there with nair and bair. If your feeling a bit traditional, I suppose you could always go with downsmash.

I like reverse needle, you could always let your chain hang low.
