As some of you know I recently wrote a blog about Death and how it asked how it affected our lives and if we are prepared for it.

Well almost a week ago, February 13 to be exact. I went Snowmobiling and fractured my back, not the most exciting of story's but here it is.
I decided to go with my dad's side of my family snowmobiling instead of going with my friend to a smash tournament.(which was was great I heard). First I dressed in the winter clothing I prepared the night before.
Then we got into the crowded car, and drove for about half an hour with the windows rolled down because we couldn't stand the heat of our own coats.
Then when we got there I had to sign some waver saying that they weren't liable for any accidents that may happen
. and then I crawled into yet, another suit. Which made my body to scream to be outside in the cold weather.
After that we finally got to the snowmobiles. Except, that there weren't enough, because my uncle forgot to reserve in advance. So my brother and I had to double up.
I drove around for about 20 minutes when I decided it was my brothers turn. To give you some background, he turned 16 three days before. So he was legally able to drive, but he wasn't ready to drive.
Anyways he decided start out going full throttle, the next thing you know we were going off a 15 foot jump at high speed. Most of you don't know how bad the shocks are on a snowmobile, and they are even worse on the back seat.
I chose not to let go of the machine, but instead, held on and felt the full shock of the impact. When we landed I felt a jolt of pain and a cracking sensation down the lower part of my back. Were now going to skip the 5 hour hospital visit. long story short the doc said to have limited movement until I had a brace. So I laid on a couch and just sat there watching TV for the past week. Now I'm in the brace that arrived earlier today. And I can finally sit up, to an extent.
But while I was waiting, I thought about how lucky I was, and how most people get paralyzed or even killed by these types of accidents. And how my life wouldn't even effect the world I live in. Although my family and friends would miss me, and that I might make for an interesting news story, and that would be it. I wouldn't have had made any difference to the rest of the world, I would be just some statistic, some faceless thing that never contributed to society. I don't think this is the end of me, I think it just makes me want to do something before I can't.
