Hey guys! I'm a relatively new player to Melee (started playing about 16 months ago) and I haven't really posted much on here so I'd like to introduce myself. I'm a Falco main (SmashTag: RULA) stationed in South Florida. The guys I train most with are Spider Sense (Ganondorf), Blea Gelo (Luigi), Rama/Dan (Marth) who's also my brother, and another Falco who just goes by Clay.

I was hoping to drop a few of my recorded tournament sets here so my fellow birds could give me some feedback as to what I'm doing right/wrong and what overall aspects of my gameplay could be improved and how to do so.

This first video is NOT tournament, but Metroid knew how to gimp me and it was quite frustrating. If anyone could provide tips on how to safely approach Marth it would be greatly appreciated. Metroid used Neutral Marth in this one.

I apologize if there's already a specific area of Smashboards for both introductions and gameplay feedback. I decided to post this thread here since I main Falco and noticed there was a decent amount of activity. Please don't hesitate to leave any feedback, I'm going to Apex 2013, so I want to polish anything that's currently sloppy and improve as much as humanly possible before I go. I know I still have a lot of work to do, but any little tips can help immensely. Thanks y'all!

for a fairly new player, not too bad. your micro needs work but your macro seems decent enough. focus on your interaction speed in close range and make sure to find me at apex and i'll play you a bit.

Cold you elaborate a bit as to what you mean by micro and macro?

I'll definitely look out for you at Apex too.

macro is large scale interaction, while micro is small scale interaction. this is a gross oversimplification, but basically you don't run into moves, you seem to understand basic positional advantage with movement and platforms, and you actively try to play so that your opponent can't do it back effectively. micro game is stuff that helps with closer interactions so that you come out ahead of your opponent, like maybe shine out of shield or pulling back when your aerial attack hits the opponent's shield.

Gotchya. Yeah I'm not sure what the best way to work on micro stuff is. I asked Shiz about how he got learned how to do such hard reads when it comes to super up close and personal situations and he said that experience is the biggest factor among other things. That guy was a pleasure to play against/get wrecked by lol.
