Smash Rookie
Hello, people of Smashboards. I want to introduce myself and want to let you guys/gals know who I am. I'm an 18 year old who just loves video games in general. I love immersing myself into a game or compete against friends. I recently recognized the Sm4sh scene and the Melee community soon after I got into my junior year of high school. I used to be a hardcore sniper on Call of Duty; I still play today even with the new releases not being very fun, but not as much. I took a break from COD during my junior year because I didn't have the money to get my own PS4 and still don't today lol. I heard of competitive Smash when I overheard a conversation between these two people in my Graphic Design class about how Kenny, which is now a friend of mine, Sm4sh and his character (they also talked their Melee Ganons). I was interested in how people were able to turn Melee, being one of my favorite games from my childhood, turned into the competitive scene it is today. I was astonished when I watched my first Big House 4 vods on YT and sitting there with my jaw hanging. I started to watch more and more and more...I still remember pulling an all-nighter that night to watch and find out everything about this community as I could. Now, every time I go to my friend's house, I pull up the Dolphin emulator and just play for hours on end. I started to learn more about tech skill a few months back. I started to learn wavedashing one weekend, then L-Cancelling the next, and spacing the one after that.
I'm still developing my skills and trying to add my own playstyle while holding on to that sweet Melee tech skill.
