Okay, that was pillaring then..
What you have to do, is short hop (lightly and quickly tap X, Y, or UP), then hold down, and shoot, landing into a WaveDash...
It's hard to describe...

M'kay then...
Lighty tap X, pat the height of the jump press down, while immdeaditly after pressing B to shoot, apon landing WD, (Jumping then immediatly pressing L/R while holding diagonal down in the desired direction), and L-cancless (Press Z 20 frames prior to hitting the ground).
The do it again, and again, and again.
It's really hard to explain, but those are the general button presses needed..
I'm pretty sure anyways, I don't pillar..
It woulden't suprise me to find that tommororw on this thread everyone will say how wrong I have it. (;

Mmmm, yeah. What you're actually looking for is called Short Hop Lasering, or SHL. Pillaring is when you use dair->shine->-dair->shine over and over in order to pressure someone's shield, possibly with some multishines thrown in there.

SHLing is the most important aspect of playing Falco, you do it by simply short hopping, firing a laser, and fast falling. You just have to mess around with the timings to learn when to fire, and when to fastfall. If you practice SHLing, it will come very quickly. You don't need to L-cancel, since you can't L-cancel B moves, and you don't need to wavedash when you're done (and it isn't possible to anyway.) When you hit the ground normally after firing a laser, the lag cancels automatically, and you can do it again. Most Falcos usually move around the stage using SHL, since the lasers stun the opponent, and it's makes for a really great approach.

You'll want to learn how to SHL, and RSHL (Reverse short hop laser, which you do by flicking the control stick in the opposite direction, letting it go to neutral, and then firing a laser, which will go the other way,) if you're going to pick up Falco. It is THE most important part of his game.

Hope that helps!

Read the stickys But to move with it simply dash, then SHL. The Move is great for disrupting strategies.

Oookaaay...

No offense to BlackAdder, but you're way off, man.

Pillaring definitely doesn't involve any lasering. An explanation to pillaring can be found here:

What you're looking for advice on, Falco320, is short hop laser.

SHL is one of the most commonly discussed topics on this board and is written about at length in the stickies. I would suggest that you read those before making a new post about it.

Beyond that little bit of finger pointing, the basics of SHL are as follows:

Short hop. (done by lightly tapping X or Y)
Press B. (done by... well, pressing B)
Fast Fall. (Hold down after you press B)

Practice doing it over and over, and you'll slowly get faster and faster.
