But are you getting the turn? If not, it could be a controller issue.

btw where do you get good controllers?

Imo the smash 4 ones are good after you wear the stick/buttons in a bit and replace/fix the shoulder buttons (easy to do especially if you have a controller with shoulder buttons that are good). Different people will have differing opinions though

Also I'm just gonna plug the claw here. If you claw for this you turnaround with left thumb, jump with your right index finger, and up air with your right thumb so it's much harder to mess up
