I'm making this post to ask if anyone knows the most consistent and effective way to pull off a wall jump like this one:

https://gfycat.com/BountifulNextDog

It looks to be situational at best from a practical standpoint, but it seems stylish enough to be worth learning if it's reasonable to execute consistently.

I've tried to pull this off myself Falcon, Fox, and Falco, but my method of performing the maneuver (Walk-Off -> Hold Control Stick towards ledge -> Wall Jump) seems inconsistent at best.

Is it a simply a matter of practice to nail down the timing consistently, or is there an easier method I'm missing?

[Note: I am not referring to the Doraki Wall Jump, which has already been broken down in depth. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ut-D3c4HfIg]

the gif you showed isn't actually just a walk off wall jump. As Strong Bad said, Captain Falcon's dash attack makes this much easier.
When Captain Falcon dash attacks so that he stops at the ledge (like in the gif you sent), he gets carried off the ledge right afterwards. Holding backwards during the dash attack will cause him to hug the wall, and then you can wall jump right afterwards.

This is exactly what I needed to know. I had tried using dash attack to cancel momentum, but I hadn't figured out that you could hold the left stick towards the stage immediately after executing the dash attack, making it far easier to pull off.
Thanks a bunch!

Step 1.) Dash attack at ledge
Step 2.) Hold control stick towards stage
Step 3.) Flick it in opposite direction for wall jump
Step 4.) Enjoy your free double jump
