Smash has had a lot of music. It can be rather difficult to keep track of. I've decided to help us all out and create a comprehensive list of each track the series has ever featured.

Of course, such a list is going to be big so I'll organize it in a few ways.

First, all tracks will be organized by series.

Second, all tracks will be organized by their game of origin.

Finally, we will use this key to determine what sort of track it is.

Standard Text = Original Source
Bolded Yellow Text = Smash 64 Remix
Bolded Purple Text = Melee Remix
Bolded Orange Text = Brawl Remix

Bolded Blue Text = 3DS / Wii U Remix
Bolded Green Text = Ultimate Remix

I like how you organized the Legend of Zelda series by game chronology . It's going to make Mario interesting with how many games it has

I think I might just seperate it between Super Mario, Mario Kart and Mario (Other)

Added the Metroid, Star Fox, Bayonetta and Splatoon series!

Here are some interesting facts about the added series.

  • Metroid has not had a remix from any game after Metroid Fusion.
  • Metroid has no Metroid II: Return of Samus tracks.
  • Metroid has no Metroid: Zero Mission tracks though that game is a remake of the original Metroid.
  • Metroid has no Metroid Prime 3: Corruption tracks.
  • Metroid is also missing Metroid Prime: Federation Force and Metroid: Samus Returns Tracks but they came out after Smash 4 so its possible we will have some.
  • Almost half of the tracks from the Metroid series are remixed tracks from the original Metroid.
  • More than half of the Star Fox tracks are from Star Fox 64.
  • Star Fox has no Star Fox Adventures tracks.
  • Star Fox has no tracks from Star Fox Zero, though I expect this to change.
  • The only musical track from Star Fox Command shares its spot with a track from Star Fox 64.
  • Bayonetta's music is almost entirely from Bayonetta 1.
  • The only remixes from the Bayonetta series are instrumental versions of vocal songs.
  • Splatoon has more remixes than direct tracks, though this could easily change.
  • No music from Splatoon 2 is currently present.
Have you guys noticed any interesting patterns in the track lists? Please tell us your findings!

This is great and all but what it really needs is hyperlinks to youtube vids of all the songs in question. :101:

Looking good so far. It might not happen, but I'd really like more themes from the Metroid Prime games, for Smash Ultimate.

I imagine Sonic, Mega Man and Pac-Man won't be too hard. Good luck with Mario and Pokemon though.

I think splitting the Mario stuff into Platformers, Kart/Sport, and RPG would make it easier.

I'm actually considering seperating Pac-Man and other Namco stuff.

That does make sense, though the list of music would be pretty short, no?
Yeah but it'd be short regardless.

I'm also considering separating the Misc category by decade.

I've now added music from the Kirby, Earthbound, Metal Gear and Punch-Out!! series.

Here are some cool observations!

Kirby's Dream Land has the most tracks of any game in the Kirby series, with more than half of them being form the original source.
The far majority of tracks are from Kirby's Dream Land, Kirby Super Star or Kirby Air Ride.
There are more tracks from Kirby's Dream Land then there are tracks from Kirby games made after Sakurai stopped working on the series.
There are three different tracks labeled Green Greens.
Earthbound has never had a track that was from the original source.
Surprisingly, Earthbound Beginnings and Mother 3 have more tracks than Earthbound.
All Mother 3 tracks were remixes that came from Brawl.
From Metal Gear, only Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater have more than one track, remixed or not.
Snake Eater is an instrumental version but Calling to the Night had full lyrics. I wonder what happened there.
Punch-Out!! has no original tracks from the NES game. Considering its retro appeal, I thought it would have some.
Super Punch-Out!! has no music whatsoever.
No tracks from the Wii version were remixed.

Just finished the Playlist with the listed songs so far (plus the ones from the Smash site).
This is really good.

I will say that you accidentally switched the two "Minor Circuit" tracks from Punch-Out!! by accident.

Also, not all of the new tracks are in their proper place but hey, I'm nitpicking.

I do appreciate the critical versions though. I might add those to the list.

It really bothers me how many times they remix the same songs (TLoZ Main Theme, Jungle Hijinks for example)

Or in the case of some franchises they only put music from one game while the rest gets ignored (Metroid)

I've gone and added four new series into the list.

  • Donkey Kong
  • Yoshi
  • Pikmin
  • Animal Crossing
Also, I updated the list to include the new version of Snake Eater.

Here are some neat observations from the new listings.

  • IF WE COUNT EVERY TIME THE TUNE IS USED, THE SMASH BROS FRANCHISE HAS 8 VERSIONS OF THE DK JUNGLE THEME!
  • Donkey Kong Country and Donkey Kong Country Returns take up the majority of the DK music.
  • None of the Donkey Kong GB or GBA games have tracks
  • None of the Donkey Kong arcade games aside from the original have any tracks.
  • Yoshi's Island (Melee) is now counted as a Super Mario track as of Smash 4.
  • There are three tracks that are titled Yoshi's Island in some way.
  • Environmental Noises is awful and I hate it.
  • All of the vocal songs from the Pikmin franchise were cut in smash 4.
  • Pikmin takes up 50% of the franchises tracks. Pikmin 2 and 3 makes up the other 50%. It's an even split.
  • The only Animal Crossing tracks that are not remixed are K.K. Slider songs that appear on Saturday Nights.
  • Animal Crossing has significantly more remixes than original tracks.
  • Smash 4 gave us six Animal Crossing remixes which is a pretty large number compared to other series.

I added a joke in the list. Can you all find it?
