Voice takes up a relatively high amount of interned bandwidth (if you want it to sound remotely intelligible). Nintendo's reputation with online services suggest that this would thereby not be a very good idea, seeing as how poor most players' connections already are.

If you're playing with friends, though, I suggest using a VOIP client such as Mumble or Discord while gaming.

Hopefully with their next system they'll get with the times and make it default. I have no problem with voice chat on my ps4. Then again, both my systems are connected with ethernet. That too would be a plus on their next system, ethernet port please!

Ignoring the fact that there's already voice chat in the game when playing 'with friends,' mode...

Not while you're fighting. That's what we're talking about. And I'm sure you've noticed how difficult it is to understand anything anyone is saying when using the voice chat.

From what I heard, the mic has a cancerous quality, so it would be excruciating to hear ear-bleeding noises while playing.
Besides, not only would it lag, but some attacks are hard to notice without sound for some people. (I listen to the sound of counters. When sound's low or off, I easily get caught by them) So if the mic covers in-game sounds, not only could this get harder but you'd probably end up with a headache or your console smashed to piece by whoever's living with you in your residence.

It would be nice with friends (as long as it was decent quality and didn't lag) but would anyone honestly want it in For Glory?
