In-game portraits and results screen portraits causing game to freeze

The dimensions all match up and they're on the same settings as the rest of the images when I place them in my SD card through BrawlBox. Oddly enough they also will turn to grayscale for no apparent reason.

Some work and some don't, but they're all the same file and everything for images.

Anybody have any idea why my game freezes on me?
