Importing Japanese Brawl: Will Wi-Fi Work??

I'm planning to import brawl from Japan (I have a Japanese Wii) and I wonder if the wi-fi will connect to the UK servers or players (once they have been launched of course).

Does anyone know? If they work in the US (when the game is released) I assume they will work in the UK too. If anyone could shed some light on this that would be great.
