impact of super moves

ever since i heard about the addition of super moves i kinda wondered what kind of impact they will have on the fight. are they gonna be really powerful or do an average of 45% damage? how often will they be available to use? i hope they dont get used excessively because for me, the fun in melee was having to set up for a kill and then pulling it off, as opposed to having one move that can easily take out an opponent.

I agree, Brawl would be better off without those moves anyway.

If our assumptions from the trailer are correct, then the super smashes will be iniated from a special item drop. If that is the case, then we won't have to worry about them affecting competitive play that much. In tournaments items will most likely be turned off, and at home you can always use the item switch to turn off the super smash item.
