IMO the only thing sm4sh needs for TRUE POTENTIAL!!

IMO the only thing that sm4sh needs is a nerf to ROLLING aka "teching" / RT+tilt etc. Reguardless I think the game is pretty balanced where its at, I just think what makes the casuals from the high level players is that constant ROLL to edge and spam projectile or just space out your opponent. Maybe if it was slowed down just a little bit it would be a lot easier to punish for the high level players that can control and Skillfully use and maneuver their character. Who knows though, maybe it shouldn't matter because the casuals wouldn't really be at competition, but it would definitely be something top tier ^ LEVEL players could abuse, also being that sm4sh movement seems to ME to be slower than melee movement with fast roll speed. :ace:

Not to be rude, but... This post makes me think that you looked up smash terms and sprinkled them haphazardly into a point. What exactly are you trying to say?

I think the "teching" he is refering to is rolling. The defensive option that really needs a small nerf imo is regular ledge-getups which I tried to discuss weeks ago. TheReflexWonder tested these and found them to have approximately 2 frames of vulnerability, which is pretty ridiculous. Back to the topic; I wouldn't mind a roll nerf myself, but I don't think they're game breaking (except in wifi :troll:).

@ Pyr Pyr Yea its MY opinion about how this game could reach potential which I should of added in post. @ Shadow Blitz Shadow Blitz ledge getups meaning when you just neutrally get up on the ledge and someone just down tilts you? Right I didn't even think of the fact that I was on internet getting rolled to my death lol

Well, the game isn't overly defensive and rolling isn't too hard to punish in this game. Further, if someone can Dtilt you when you get up, it means they timed* it within 2 frames and you deserve to get hit for getting read. =D

Ive used a lot of the slower characters as well as I could use them and have been rolled to my death by constant roll to edge and projectile spam. Sometimes im just like Wow too because I know they can play better but they are just being bad kid.

At the end of the day, if someone can beat you by spamming projectiles and rolling a lot, you deserve the loss. I play Ganon most of the time and am patient. If they wanna roll spam, they're getting a boot to the face or the choke. If all they do is spam and roll, well, they just telegraphed their entire playstyle for me. If I still lose even with that knowledge, it means I screwed up royally.

Everyone hates playing that one guy that just rolls everywhere. Sure you'll beat him in the end, but it's rarely worth it.

That said, posting that it needs a nerf and calling it the same as teching is a pretty big sign you need to lurk more. Rolls may deserve a nerf, in the interest of keeping things fun online, but not to be slowed down, and they certainly don't "need" to be nerfed as you should never lose to a roll spammer.
