I don't often start my own threads, so I dunno if this warrants its own thread. I thought of a neat idea, though.
Thanks to the recent newcomer trailer, we got an awesome showdown between unlikely competitors; in this case, Lucina and Robin (FE) vs. Captain Falcon (F-Zero). And in April, we had a neat treat of Charizard's reveal in the same trailer as Greninja. So now we're down to the last couple of reveal trailers left, I thought'd it'd be cool of anyone to imagine their own scenario of who would rival who in their own debut trailer?
It can be newcomer vs. veteran, or newcomer vs. newcomer. (I dunno 'bout veteran vs. veteran, as that seems unlikely now.)
Anyway, what idea do you have for a newcomer trailer in these last 2 months before the 3DS release in Japan?
Here's my example:
[collapse="My Trailer Scenario"]
As the Smash logo slashes across the screen and fades, we gaze upon a dark, sinister room, full of futuristic equipment, dim neon strips along the walls, and glowing jars of otherwordly contents. As the camera pans around, in a flash, a figure is hurled though the room and into another, a hollow, empty corridor. Zipping though at blazing speed, they regain stance by gripping to the floor as it tears. We see its none other than Samus, ridden with damages to her suit. As she looks up, she charges her signature arm cannon, and fires several shots in her opposite direction from where she flew. Seeing nothing but a black abyss, Samus gets caught off-guard by an ominous roar. Out of nowhere, an obscured shape flies towards her at bizarre speed, dragging her through the corridor and into a second laboratory room, and is flung into an incoming wall. Knocked unconscious, she slowly slides into the rubble of her impact.
The camera rotates 180 degrees, where the viewer is suddenly startled as claws appear and dig into the floor. The camera cuts, as we see quick close-ups of the culprit is all but familiar; readied claws, whipping tail, hardened scales and a freaky jawline. The camera flies back, and we see who it is; RIDLEY IS ON THE HUNT!
After confirming Samus' unconscious state, Ridley begins scouting the room he's in, in search of his objective (like a certain baby Metroid.) As he's searching around, the camera stops and focuses on an clouded tank within the room. As if awoken from slumber, the still shadow rumbles in its canister, waking up. The canister than explodes, catching Ridley off guard as he turns toward the noise. Shrouded in a dense cloud, Ridley growls and advances towards the cloud. Out of nowhere, a ball of raw energy shoots towards Ridley's direction. Narrowly dodging it, Ridley flutters in the air, raging at the figure as he blows the cloud away. As soon as it fades, the camera is centered on grey, unmoved expression of a face. Opening its eyes, the figure exclaims "Are you responsible for my deep slumber?" The camera cuts back, and we see, MEWTWO STRIKES BACK!
With an enraged Ridley and a vengeful Mewtwo, the two charge towards each other in a dramatic clash! And of course, the trailer cuts to gameplay footage of them in action.[/collapse]
So what do you think?
