I'm starting to think lag is worse on the Wii U online..

Online has been the primary mode that I play in smash 4 both on Wii u and 3DS. I experienced some lag on the 3DS but, more often than not, after a laggy match or 2 I would go on a long spell of completely lag free matches and it was great.

I've been playing primarily on the Wii U since it came out and I thought that with superior hardware, the online features would run a lot more smoothly than 3DS. For the first week or so I had great luck on the Wii U but it's been downhill ever since. I'm going on 4 nights in a row now without one single game that was lag free and it's really driving me nuts.

Am I just having a gnarly unlucky streak online or are other people experiencing the same kind of issues?

Side note: This is only when I play For Glory. If I play with friends online it's not an issue.

That means the issue is the people you're paired up with in FG.

I don't know about you guys, but I rarely get lag on 3DS and Wii U. The only time I do get it is when I willingly fight someone with a bad connection on my friends list.

I thought the same thing but its been happening so frequently that it makes me wonder if just everyone out there has a bad connection or what.

It's just weird because as I mentioned before, I had relatively no lag issues at first with the Wii U. Now it seems like I can't get a single match without it.

It's the other players connection or possibly Nintendo's QULAITY servers. Either way, being wired and playing with other people who are wired (most good players are) will help.

It's more costly but there is a way. It's what I use.
