Face it yes we know how great Melee was but sadly its should have been successor Brawl failed to replace Melee and not also did it not take over from Melee it sprouted years long controversy between the Smash Bros. Franchise. Hopefully I hope the new Smash Bros.will lay melee to be in retirement and successfully become the top dog Smash Bros. I know only Samurai could make this happen.Please!

Not that easy. Yes, they are different games, Brawl is Brawl and it is an awesome game for being what it is, same goes for Melee. But as you said it yourself, people will have different opinions, it just happens that people who like the Melee style wants the next SSB4 to be the next Melee, and people who liked Brawl and hated Melee wants SSB4 to be more like Brawl.

Which is why I think Sakurai is a genius for saying he wants to balance the game between Melee and Brawl, he will please the community as a whole, not just part of it. Now I just hope he can accomplish that, but regardless, I think SSB4 will be a great game, despite it being more of one way than another.

Have previous smash titles not created their own identities? I agree that I hope these new titles do that, but explicitly stating so makes it sound like one has some doubt about the matter, and I don't.
