I'm new to smash at anything higher than casual, I'd like someone to help me out on netplay.

So, as the title says, I'm really new. I *am* using an xbone controller on dolphin until I get a gc adapter, so that could be one of my problems fyi. I can't really wavedash or do any tricks like L-canceling, DI-ing, but I can combo-- sometimes. If anyone would be willing to help me out that'd be great.

EDIT: For wavedashing, I've learned how long the lag before the jump is (thanks to me being dumb and trying out 1/4 speed to try wavedashing) so I'm able to hit *some* now.

There's no point in trying to learn certain techniques until you get your gc controller because the feel an timing will feel different. As for learning tech skill, get the 20XX Training hack, it's probably the best resource for learning melee right now.
